Our Veterinarian

Dr. John Link

I am a dedicated Veterinarian with a passion for animal care and livestock management. I graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and have been fortunate to work in the veterinary field for the past five years. Originally from New Baden, I fulfilled a lifelong dream when I purchased my grandparents’ farm, where I raise livestock while practicing as a Veterinarian. Owning my own clinic has always been a goal of mine, and I look forward to the future where I can expand my impact on the Smithton community and continue to provide top-quality care for animals, big and small.

I am happily married to my wife, Molly, and together, we have two children, Lucy and John Dorsey. My career is deeply intertwined with my calling, and every day, I’m driven by a commitment to both my family and the animals I care for.

I have been a Veterinary Assistant for 21 years. I love my country and served 21 years active duty in the Navy. I love spending time with family, especially my three beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy hiking and watching corny, good-hearted Netflix series.

She went to college for environmental biology, and while doing that, she did an externship for a wildlife rescue. There, she found her love for animal medicine, and shortly after, she started working at a veterinary emergency hospital. She has been in veterinary medicine ever since. When she is not helping animals at work, she is taking care of her many animals at home, which she considers a zoo with her husband Jeremy and daughter Caroleena. She also owns a small business called Animal House Design, where she sells various small projects and gets to showcase her love and skill for crafting.

I graduated from Hickey College in 2014 and have been working in veterinary medicine ever since. My husband and I got married in 2020, and we had a baby boy in the fall of 2023, and we have another on the way. We have two boxers that you might have seen pictures of in the clinic, Fleetwood and Mac, but people do not typically know that I have a soft spot for cats and reptiles. My husband and I are also huge sports fans, especially the Blues!

I went to the Midwest Institute for Veterinary Technology. Before graduating in 2023, I worked as a kennel worker, and through my interactions, I discovered my passion for animals. I’m very thankful that I get the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of animals and owners.

She started her journey working as a kennel kid. Since then, she has wanted to become a technician as she is working on getting her degree. As much as she loves the small animals, large animals will always be her favorite. She has a farm of her own with horses, dogs, ducks, and more!

I’m thrilled to be part of a team dedicated to caring for animals and the people who love them. My professional journey began in education, where I served as a teacher and school counselor. Now, I’m honored to bring my passion for service and lifelong love of animals into the world of veterinary care. My husband, Lee, and I have been married for 28 years, and we’re proud parents to three amazing kids—Meredith, Chelsea, and Brayden—as well as our two beloved fur babies, Chloe (whose nickname is Pooh Bear) and JJ.
